  1. Hello,

Do you have the budgeting worksheet that goes with the Money Management Gets Real Project. I would love to complete that project with my 8th graders during their Consumerism unit.

    Thanks

    1. Hello Meredith, I thought that it was already there, but I have added it now. Thanks for letting me know.

  2. I have been on your site and absolutely love it. I am a brand new facs teacher….just hired. You seem so nice and helpful. Would you be interested in mentoring a new teacher……feeling so overwhelmed and you just seem unbelievably awesome. Any help would be so appreciative

    1. Sorry so late, something was sending all my comments to spam. But YES! I would definitely be interested in assisting any way that I can. Feel free to email me at takeebie@justfacs.com with any questions or on Facebook. I look forward to hearing from you if I’m not too late.

  3. Hello, I love your site. This is my second year to teach FCS. Your site has helped me so much. Thank you.

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you found the site useful!!

  4. Takeebie…you would probably consider me a dinosaur (seriously!) with technology and I am in awe of your website! I teach FACS in South Carolina and love my job…by years I am a Senior and know I bring many life experiences to my classroom, which hasn’t been remodeled in 50+ years; however, next summer (2017) my room/kitchen lab will be completely gutted and brand new and thrilled, as you can imagine. I read you attended Ft. Valley State in Georgia. I am from Georgia and not far from Ft. Valley…are you a Georgia girl too? Where do you teach? Looking forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hi Starr! Yes, I was born and raised in Georgia. I just recently started a new position as Director of Online Learning at Albany State University. However, I am still very much involved in the FACS professions and the local FACS classes. Be on the look out for new resources coming soon and especially about incorporating technology into the FACS classrooms. I know that you are excited about the new room/lab, it probably feels like Christmas!! I can’t wait to see pictures!! Let me know if there is anything I can assist you with. Thanks for visiting.

  5. Takeebie I love your resources. I’d like to teach parenting classes ranging to all with children 0 to 15. Discussing divorce, anger management child Dev., teen issues, drugs, etc. Any suggestions where I can find some lessons and handouts to use that covers many topics like yours without spending tons? I love your format. I’m s newbie but love helping people especially single moms. I need a guide on how to lead groups. Any ideas would be helpful. Thks

  6. Happy return to school, Takeebie! Our teachers return today, July 14, and to add to the anxiety of getting ready, my school is undergoing a HUGE renovation. My FACA classroom is two weeks away from a complete renovation and I can hardly wait to move in. This will be the first year I will actually have kitchen labs–my old kitchen was so gross–I usually did a demonstration (using a griddle) and students cooked the next day! Of course, students LOVE the food labs bc it means they can eat! Your ideas for the food labs are great and I appreciate your wonderful ideas and thank you for your generosity to share with FACS teachers.
